Chapter thirteen: Sudden Encounters


Harsh breaths cut through the silence. Dashing through the narrow hallways, the dim lighting was the only illumination. Two foot steps came on different rates, then a sudden pause at a large door. A hand cupped the door handle opening it slightly causing it to make a cracking sound.


Two figures stepped into the room, both their eyes wide-eyed the other two in the room, a familiar voice shot through the light air.


“Naruto?”


“Sa-Sasuke…” the blond hesitantly said taking a step closer.


“So you and Kakashi are the intruders?” Sasuke didn’t realize a smaller figure as it began to enter the room as well, panting heavily from the run.


“Who are you?” Sasuke was about to question, before the little girl wide-eyed the woman next to Sasuke.


“YUUKI-CHAN!” She shouted thrusting herself towards the orange-haired kunoichi. Sasuke shifted quickly in front of Yuuki gripping the little girl high in the air by the collar of her sweater.



“Mai-chan! Sasuke let her go!” Naruto shouted seeing Mai struggling under Sasuke’s grasp.


“No one goes near Yuuki… especially this brat.” Sasuke’s gaze became dark. Naruto clenched his teeth hard.


“Sasuke… let go of her.” Everyone looked to the orange haired kunoichi, as Sasuke did what he was told, nothing but a smirk as his reply.


Mai fell with a “thump” on the ground looking up at the sharingan wielder, her head tilted to one side making her long, snow white hair swing in the movement. She just sat there motionless.


“Itachi’s brother?” Mai whispered almost inaudible, Sasuke looked down at the girl.


“How do you know Itachi?” Was all Sasuke stated before being interrupted by a certain blonde.


“Sasuke! Were going to take you back to Konaha weather you like it or not!” Naruto’s whiskers began turning darker as were his eyes.


“hn, As if you can even lay a scratch on me.” Sharingan narrowed. Soon three other Konaha shinobi entered the door behind Sasuke.


“So you brought reinforcements?” Sasuke shared a glance towards Shikamaru, Temari and Anko a kunai clenched in her palm.


“M-mai-chan…” Orange hair caught the little girl’s attention, as the she got up from her place on the floor in front of Sasuke towards Yuuki.


“Oh how I missed you.” Yuuki simply stated stretching her arms to mai’s warm embrace.


“Mai-chan you have who you have been searching for… now it’s our turn.” Kakashi’s only sharingan blazing crimson. Sasuke took into a fighting position. Which pretty much his standing around waiting for an attack. But he wasn’t interested in childish games he needed to get to the point. His missions… find and retrieve a scroll from akatsuki.


“I couldn’t find the scroll kakashi… I bet the Uchiha brat has it.” Anko raised her voice a full intent to beat the Uchiha up.


“Sasuke were here for Orochimaru’s scroll… and to get you back... So why not make this easy for us?” Kakashi sarcasm wasn’t motivating Sasuke in the lest, as Kakashi thought to himself that it was always the hard way with Sasuke.


“Sasuke where is the—“


“I have it.” Yuuki cut kakashi off, as she held a scroll in her hands formally with kanji written on it reading “Dead”. Kakashi’s eyes flickered; yes he knew that was the one. Yuuki took a step forward her eyes covered with her bangs. She then grasped Mai with her only free hand and pushed her towards Temari. Then lifted her gaze from the ground staring at Naruto. Eye’s dark… her cheeks now showed the same dark whiskers as Narutos.


“Wha?” Naruto sounded hesitant. He now noticed she had the same eyes as Narutos… eyes of a beast.


“Y-Yuuki-chan?” Mai’s eyes widened.


“Enough talk! It’s time to end this.”  Naruto trusted himself before Sasuke; though a loud crash from the roof stopped him in his tracks.


“Wha-What’s going on?” Naruto looked up the ceiling as it began to crumble.


The Konaha shinobi leaped up at the massive hole of the ceiling struggling not to get caught up in the crumbling stone.  They were now on normal grounds, along with Sasuke and Yuuki beside them, Mai-chan carried bridal style in Shikamaru’s arms.


“What was that?” Shikamaru stated before looking up to see three figures all wearing hats as well as black and crimson cloud coats.

“Don’t make me repeat myself! Who in the world are you?” Ten Ten throw another kunai in the strangers’ direction, but was easily dodged.


“Look I don’t want any troub—“The raven haired man couldn’t finish his sentence before a gust of chakra plunged him to a near by wall.


“urg… that hurt…” He simply said rubbing his head.


“Well are you going to answer the question?” The byakugan user insisted arms crossed looking down at the slightly injured opponent.


“Scipio…” He replied still rubbing his head.


“Uchiha?” Neji stared at Scipio’s crimson eyes.


“No…” Scipio shook his head in disagreement switching crimson into green.


“What a handsome guy!” Ten Ten thought to herself blushing abit at the idea.


“Well then how did you get the sharingan?” Neji’s interrogation continued as Scipio sighed trying to stand up dusting himself off.


“Look I’m just looking for Saku—“ Scipio cut himself off thinking of his choice of words… “I can’t tell them Sakura is still alive…It will screw everything up.” Was Scipios last thought before correcting himself.


“I’m looking for some one to help me; you see I was looking for Konaha, as I stumbled into this place to ask for directions.” Scipio gave a sheepish grin as Neji stared in disbelief.


“Well then who is this “she” you were talking about earlier?”


“Oh an old man near here told me of an old woman who lived here that’s all.”


“Well if I just keep lying like this maybe they’ll go away?” Scipio’s thought arose as he continued to give his ear to ear smile.


“Now since your going to Konaha you found the perfect people see were Konaha shinobi.”


“Oh isn’t that a coincidence?”


Then we can escort you.” Neji’s eyes where still in disbelief of the green eyed man’s story, but it will be much easier to interrogate him in Konaha.


“Yah… s-sure…why not?”


“So much for the escape plan.”
